Yiyamba and Biraimba communities in the Northern Region have bounced back to life as residents who fled as a result of the recent clashes between the two towns have returned.

According to the Police, a visit to the areas showed the village folks are trying to rebuild the communities which were torched during the clash.

Three others also lost their lives.

“They are coming back…this time, when they see us coming, they don’t run away” said District Police commander ASP Stephen Paa Yeboah.

The clashes occurred last month over a parcel of land and protracted chieftaincy dispute.

The two communities have signed a bond to be of good behavior to end the conflict and co-exist peacefully

The peace pact was signed at the end of a meeting between leaders of the two feuding factions and the seven-member committee set up by the Northern Regional Security Council (REGSEC).

ASP Yeboah added the two people who were arrested in connection with the act have been granted a police enquire bail.

He said the Police will continue with investigations to find out those who instigated the clashed.
