President John Mahama is expected to join the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Thursday at the Local Government Institute in Accra.

The NEC will focus on  how to conclude all the party’s  internal elections by December this year as well as implementing reform exercises like the biometric registration of members.

Top on the agenda would also be how the party will strategize to win power on the heels of the current economic crisis.

The Committee is also expected to consider the seeming internal disapprovals over the President’s recent ministerial appointments, especially at the regional level.

Some youth in the Upper East region on Wednesday threatened violence if the president does not reappoint Dr. Ephraim Avia Nsor as the regional minister.
