Eschew campaign of violence – Queenmother to politicians

Naa Dedei Omedru III, Queenmother of the Ga State, has called on political parties to desist from politics of insults and violence in their respectively campaigns ahead of the December polls.

She also advised the Electoral Commission to put in place measures to organize free and fair elections.

Naa Dedei Omedru made the remarks in an interview with the media when she arrived from the United States after short holidays.

She was welcomed at the Kotoka International Airport by representatives of the Ga Traditional Council led by the Nii Doudu Nsaki III, the Otublohum Mantse and acting president of the Ga Traditional Council.

She noted that the country belongs to all Ghanaians, so it was important for all to intensify prayer support for a successful election.

She expressed her appreciation to the Metropolitan Chief Executiveq of Accra,  Alfred Okoe Vanderpuijie for his support and the leadership he has exhibited managing the city in these past years.

Naa Dedei  Omedru aged 82 ,who is also known in private life as Naa Dedei Ablah also expressed joy that year’s peaceful celebration of Homowo was devoid of violence and congratulated the chiefs and people of Accra.

The Queenmother who is noted for peace,love,hard work and discipline called on the people of Accra to maintain and protect the rich value and culture the celebration of Homowo stands for.

Briefing the media,Nii  Doudu Nsaki III ,Acting President Of The Ga Traditional council urged women those in traditional leadership and the youthful ones to emulate the good leadership qualities of the Ga Manye.

Naa Dedei Omedru III was  enstooled Ga Manye in 1963 at the age of 29 years and has ruled for 53 years till date. Throughout her reign,she has demonstrated extra ordinary sense of Ga customs and fairness by seeking the welfare of women especially queen mothers in the Ga state.
