Ghana’s first ever female swimmer to make an appearance at the Olympic games Kaya Adwoa Forson says she is already yearning to get back to work ahead of Tokyo 2020 but this time with her younger sister.

The 14 year old Canadaian born Ghanaian produced her personal best time of 2:16.02 to place third in heat one of the women’s 200m freestyle, but it was not enough to put her in contention for a medal.

Elated at her debut appearance, she has described the Rio 2016 games as a learning and enjoyable experience and even went ahead to drop the hint that she might return to the games in Tokyo with her younger sister.

“I want to be able to come back in four years to Tokyo with my younger sister, that is my hope.

“I want to be able to enjoy this experience as much as possible.

“I have barely started and certainly want to do this again because this is an experience I would want to repeat,”an excited Forson revealed.

The decision by the Ghana Swimming Association to hand her the universality slot allocated to Ghana sparked controversy following claims by Ghanaian based swimmer Ophelia Swayne that Kaya hoodwinked her way to the games.
