Mahama commissions new school block for Ada SHS

President John Dramani Mahama has commissioned an ultra-modern six unit classroom block for the Ada Senior High School.

The classroom block with two staff common rooms and 9 toilet facilities was provided by Groupe Ideal.

Speaking at a short ceremony to commission the school, the President of Groupe Ideal, Dr. Nii Kotei Dzani, said development of education and health should not only be left with the government hence Individuals  and corporate organizations must complement the efforts of government to bring development to the people.’’

He noted that the initiative is aimed at providing good infrastructure for quality teaching and learning in the community.

“One of our objectives for undertaking this project is to see Ghana advance on the Millennium Development Goals now the Sustainable Development Goals, in particular, the goal two on Achieving Universal Education,” he added.

He highlighted the importance of education in improving living standards and reducing poverty.

“Education is key in nation building and as a brand we want to contribute in shaping the lives of these students who are the future leaders .We are therefore providing both the students and teachers with a conducive learning environment so they can concentrate on their studies,” he added.

In an interview with the Group Director, Corporate Communications and Strategy, Ekow Blankson said the ultra-modern school block will aid the transformation of education in the community.

He added that the gesture is part of their corporate social responsibility to give back to society.

The school building is furnished with tables and chairs for the students.

The Acting Headmaster of the school who double as the Ada District Education Director of Ghana Education Service Mr Samuel Nakoji lauded the gesture and pledged to ensure the new building is well maintained for the benefit of the students and the community at large.
