The Board of Directors of SIC Insurance Company Limited has confirmed the appointment of Kwei Mensah Ashidam as the substantive Managing Director of Ghana’s largest general Insurance Company.
He had been the Acting Managing Director from February, 2015, following the exit of Doris Awo Nkani.
Mr Ashidam brings on board over 32 years of rich experience in the Insurance Industry.
He had previously held positions such as Head of Reinsurance, Head of Risk Management and Area Manager for Tema with oversight responsibility over Tema, Koforidua, Ho, Hohoe, Aflao and Akim Oda.
He was once the Executive Assistant to the Managing Director.
His areas of expertise include Fire Insurance Underwriting, Adjustments of Property Insurance, Reinsurance and Oil & Gas Insurance.
Mr Ashidam serves on the Boards of the Ghana Tourist Development Company, SIC Life, SIC FSL and Accra City Hotel.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing – UK and a Diploma in Insurance from the West African Insurance Institute – Gambia.
He is the founder member of the Insurance Institute of Ghana, now Ghana Insurance College, and a Lecturer at the same Institution.
