American NGO supports Bumbong-Naayili

An American Non Governmental Organization called Water for the Global Community has provided water filtering system for residents of Bunbong-Naayili in the Yendi Municipality of the Northern Region.

The system which is manually operated filters 150 gallons of water per hour.

The intervention is aimed at preventing water-borne and other related diseases prevalent in Bumbong-Naayili, hometown of Ghana’s Super Reggae Star, Rocky Dawuni.

The organisation by extension provided a street lighting project in the Bumbong community and both projects have been duly inaugurated.

The Yendi Municipal Chief Executive, Alhaji Issah Zakaria at the official inaugural ceremony thanked the NGO for augmenting government’s transformational agenda.

He challenged residents there to zealously protect the projects to ensure its sustainability.

He said the Go-Foundation and the Leading Through Reading organisations are to jointly fund the library project which kick starts in the middle of August, 2016.Ubor Dawuni

Ubor Dawuni Wumbei praised Daniel Kerneston, leader of the Africa Charity Mission, another Christian NGO for supplying teachers to the community.

According to him, Daniel Kerneston has since 1997 been voluntarily supporting schools in the community.

Daniel Kerneston described the community chief as a visionary leader who deserved massive support to alleviate the plight of his people.

He implored the Yendi municipal assembly to liaise with NGOs working the area to improve the living conditions of the rural poor.

Daniel Kerneston reiterated his organisation’s dedication to humanitarian services in the Yendi municipality.
