Ghanaians need critical health information – Minister

The Minister of Health, Alex Segbefia says Ghana can achieve all health related social development goals through a comprehensive, effective health promotion.

Mr Segbefia said the nation needs critical health information to inspire people to take action. In this regard, government is expanding facilities for the public to access good health promotion programs.

One of such is the establishment of a Community Based Health Planning Services, CHPS Compounds to enhance quality health interventions.

Mr. Segbefia was speaking at the Re-launch of ‘Goodlife, Live it Well’ refreshed brand and the National New-born and Child Health Advocacy Communication Strategy in Accra.

The new Goodlife live it well campaign seeks to reinforce and encourage individuals, groups and communities to get the necessary information to make choices for healthy living,

The Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Ebenezer Appiah Denkyira said the new Goodlife requires effective communication to make Ghana a healthy nation.

The Minister of Health, Alex Segbefia said government will continue to work with all development partners to promote good health.

The U.S Ambassador to Ghana, Robert Jackson said reducing maternal and child mortality, increasing access to clean drinking water, sanitation and behaviour change is a shared responsibility.

Family Planning and Sanitation as well as emergency risk communication like Ebola and Cholera.
