Mahama to donate proceeds from Mother’s funeral to Cardio Centre

The family of President John Dramani Mahama has taken a decision to donate all proceeds from the funeral of his late mother, Hajia Abiba Nnaba to the National Cardiothoracic Centre.

Hundreds of mourners from all walks of life joined the first family and bid farewell to her at her hometown in Busunu in the West Gonja District of the Northern Region where the burial was held.

[contextly_sidebar id=”MiRQxX6qzrDuWzxnT5UyjDc3uBJ9naOK”]The final funeral rites are expected to take place on Sunday July 31, 2016 at the forecourt of the State House in Accra at 1:00pm.

By tradition, sympathizers donate monies at the venue to be given to the bereaved family. After the event, the family will then decide what to do with the proceeds.

But the first family of Busunu and Bole, the Yagbonwura- Overlord of Gonja and the Busunu-wura say all donations for the event will be donated to the National Cardiothoracic Centre at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital to aid heart surgeries.
