He added that “there are a whole lot of things that are going on that we need clarity on, and we have taken this matter upon ourselves to make sure that the truth surrounding it comes to light”.
He added that, CHRAJ should clarify which type of gift public officials can receive including the President.
Background
The Youth League of the Convention People’s Party petitioned the CHRAJ on July 20th, to delve into the ford gift the president received from Djibril Kanazoe, a Burkina be contractor.
Djibril Kanazoe won part of the Eastern Corridor road contract worth the €25.9million, and also won a contract to build a fence around the Ghana Embassy land in Burkina Faso worth $650,000.
‘However, the President has dismissed claims by the public that the gift was a bribe.
The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) requested from the group concrete evidence of their accusations beyond the claims in the public domain.
The Youth League thus presented what it calls evidence to the Commission on Wednesday.
According to the Secretary of the CPP Youth League, Hardi Yakubu, the Commission has been provided with ‘’audiovisuals that contain a whole lot of evidential materials’’.
