An Accra Fast Track High Court has adjourned to June 25, the ruling on a case involving the New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth activist; Richard Nyamah and the Finance Ministry.

The plaintiff, Richard Nyamah, is asking the Ministry of Finance to pay all debts owed the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETfund) since 2013.

He filed an Ex-parte motion praying the court to compel the Finance Ministry to defray its accumulated debt.

According to him, since 2013, the Ministry has failed to pay the compulsory percentage of VAT returns into the GETFund accounts as required by law.

The Attorney General’s Department had earlier questioned the locus of Mr. Nyamah in the matter arguing that his motion be thrown out.

In a related development, the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) has expressed their support for Mr. Nyamah in his suit against the government.

In an interview with Citi News, the president of NUGS, Samuel Darkwa Bimfoh said they will explore all available means to compel the government pay GETFund.
