Otumfuor Osei Tutu II, has charged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer, Nana Akuffo Addo to fulfill his promises if elected President.

He said it is relevant for Nana Addo to live up to expectation since electorates will hold him accountable based on the promises made to them.

[contextly_sidebar id=”GuQk3S3pkm7U77xgFU7I6IV9MOi3pKF8″]“We know that you are one of the few leaders who when given the mandate, will work to develop the country. Know that Ghanaians are listening to whatever you say. When it’s time for elections, people will reflect on what they have heard. What did Nana say?The electorates will reflect on all these…”

The Asantehene made this comment when Nana Addo and his entourage, including former President John Kufuor paid a courtesy call on him at the Manhyia Palace on Thursday.

We don’t need insults

Asantehene also urged Nana Addo to run an issue based campaign devoid of insults.

“We do not need insults. This will not help Ghana. When President Mahama came, he promised running an issue based campaign, devoid of insults. He also assured Ghanaians of a peaceful election. You have also assured me same. I haven’t met the smaller parties yet but I know they will also promise the same thing.”

“My advice to everyone is to be mindful of their utterances and their conduct. I will also entreat your supporters to help you achieve what you are seeking. I will urge your supporters to give you good advice, there should not be any disagreement among you. You must all come together and succeed.”
