Regent University College holds 10th anniversary lectures [Photos]

The Regent University College of Science & Technology has held a public lecture as part of activities marking its 10th anniversary.

Over the past decade, the Regent University College of Science & Technology has shaped minds and influenced the Ghanaian society.

Through its mission of raising highly skillful, visionary, ethical, and God-fearing leaders to function as change agents, the University has raised over 3000 graduates into the global society, particularly Africa, to make contributions towards the renewal of society.

To mark a decade of this achievement, the University has scheduled a number of thematic lectures between July 2016 and June 2017, under the theme, ‘Raising change agents through holistic education’.

The management of the University say “As an institution, we believe that, as Ghana and Africa for that matter, seeks for answers to her developmental challenges, the tertiary education sector must play a leading role.”

The Regent University College tenth anniversary lectures aims at creating the platform for academia and business to exchange ideas and recommendations on relevant national development, create the opportunity for stimulating thoughts and discussions on key developmental issues, and also bring to the fore of public discourse, topical issues that will contribute to the national discourse on these issues.

The anniversary lectures addresses issues in politics, religion, education, technology, engineering, business, all directing to the development discourse.
A lecture on Wednesday July 13, focused on ‘The Importance of Mobile Computing and Cloud Technology in the 21st Century.’

The main idea of Cloud computing in the words of Mr. Kwame Ahiabenu, the respondent for the lecture, is to deliver traditional high-performance computing power, usually available to military, research or academic institutions with the ability to perform tens of trillions of computations per second.

The lecture at the end left participants well informed about Mobile Computing and Cloud Technology and its impact on the economy and nation building.
