The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives  in the Northern Region, have begun training National Democratic Congress (NDC) loyalists who defected to join the Dankwa-Busia-Dombo tradition recently, to serve on the party’s communications team in the region.

The defectors, who officially announced their decision on Monday July 11, at a news conference in Walewale, cited economic hardship, tribalism and the decision by Zanetor Rawlings to contest as MP in the Korle Klottey Constituency as some of the reasons for their defection.

“We have received them and once they were communicators we have enrolled them onto our communications team and we are taking them through a lot of things that go on in our party and sooner than later they will be on radio defending the New Patriotic Party.”

According to him, the decision is not a rush one as they (NPP) believe the defected NDC loyalists left on reasons they both share.

“Once they are coming from the NDC camp, they know why they left and during their press conference several issues were identified as to why they defected.”
