President John Dramani Mahama will today (Wednesday), hit the Northern Region with his nationwide “Accounting to the people” tour.
He is expected to spend two days inaugurating completed projects as well as ongoing ones.
These include the ultra modern Tamale Aboabo market and Lorry Park, phase two of the Tamale Teaching Hospital’s upgrading and expansion project, the Yendi-Gushiegu stretch of the Eastern Corridor road, and a World Bank sponsored dormitory and administration project at the Tamale Dabokpa Secondary Technical Institute.
President Mahama will pay a courtesy call on the overlord of Mamprugu traditional area who doubles as President of the Northern Regional House of Chiefs, the Naayiri Mahami Bohigu Sheriga.
He will later address traditional rulers and queen mothers in Tamale.
The NDC Northern Regional Communications Director, Abdul Mumin Alhassan in a Citi News interview, cautioned party supporters against road indiscipline.
He urged them to desist from drunk driving and reckless motor-riding as they mass up to usher the President into the Tamale Township.
Abdul Mumin Alhassan described President Mahama’s performance in his home region as unprecedented, and called on the electorate to massively vote for the President to complete his unfinished agenda.
