Lawyer for embattled Montie FM panelists who threatened to eliminate justices of the Supreme Court, Godwin Tamakloe, has said his clients are remorseful.

Alistair Nelson and Godwin Ako Gunn have been widely condemned and have subsequently been cited by the Supreme Court for contempt.

The apex court, which sat on the matter on Tuesday, adjourned to July 18, 2016, following claims by the accused persons that they were only served with the summons on that day.

The adjournment is also to give ample time for all the owners of the station to appear before the judges.

“From the moment the GBA issued their statement condemning the alleged comments made by them, without hesitation, on the part of our clients, in particular, Alister, had already come out with a press statement and has indicated the fact that he was apologizing for those comments allegedly made by him and that he without reservation withdraws and retracts those statements and apologize in particular to those justices who were mentioned.”

The panelists can’t harm a fly

“So the apology has started ahead of this invitation by the Supreme Court of this Republic so I think that there shouldn’t be any difficulty at all if it becomes necessary to repeat this apology. In any case, we have indicated that our clients are not in the position as to try to harm not even a fly,” Godwin Tamakloe indicated.

Supreme Court angry with Montie FM owners

The Supreme Court further chastised owners of Montie FM for absenting themselves before it despite being summoned.

But responding to the concerns of the Justices, Lawyer for the owners, Nana Ato Dadzie, explained that the owners of the station, Network Broadcasting Limited, and all the directors apart from Mr. Edward Addo, were out of the country.

The court therefore adjourned the case to the 18th of July 2016 for  the rest of the directors to appear before them for the hearing to proceed.
