The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Usman Sharabutu, has called on Ghanaians to stay united so there will be peace in the country.

Muslims all around the world are today celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Speaking at the gathering, Sheikh Usman Sharabutu urged Ghanaians to be at peace with each other. He also asked for Allah’s blessings for the leaders of the country and the people.

“We thank Allah for his blessings during and after the fasting. We are grateful for his peace. We must live at peace with each other because that is what the Holy Quran teaches us. We must not fight among ourselves. There has to be peace.”

The celebration ended weeks of fasting, and is one of the most important events on the Muslim calendar. It was attended by President John Dramani Mahama and other dignitaries.
