The Police have arrested two persons believed to have torched the National Democratic Congress (NDC) office in the Wa Constituency in the Upper West Region.

The suspects have also been accused of leading some youth to destroy a vehicle belonging to the party’s constituency chairman.

Speaking to Citi News, the deputy Upper West Regional Police Commander, ACP Dr. Shaibu Gariba, confirmed that the “Upper West regional command made the arrest of some people that were alleged to have masterminded the attack. Two people were arrested and detained.”

He also revealed that the police Command has also “requested the NDC constituency chairman for Wa West and the opinion leaders to actually produce those who are alleged to have contributed” to the attack.

“Once we finish investigations, we will process them for court,” Dr. Gariba added.

We won’t treat case as party matter

The Police had earlier warned that they will not leave any stone un-turned in their investigations.

ACP Gariba assured that the police will not be “influenced or undermined by any political party. As you know, we have always declared our position that crime has no political color. Crime is crime, and once it has been committed, we are going to actually treat it as we do for everybody.”
