The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) newly elected parliamentary nominee in the Nadowli-Kaleo constituency of the Upper West region, Elvis Botaa has said he is optimistic of winning the seat come November 7.

According to him, the people of Nadowli- Kaleo are hungry for a leader who will spearhead developments in the constituency.

Elvis Bortaa a 26-year old consultant was endorsed on Saturday as the NPP parliamentary nominee to represent the party in the Nadowli-Kaleo constituency for the 2016 general elections, after Dr. Boye Bandie, former Parliamentary candidate of the area stepped aside on health grounds.

Mr. Bagbin has held the seat since 1992.

Speaking to Citi News, Mr. Botaa said he is competent and his age will not affect his victory.

“I am competent and well equipped with what it takes to lead the people. All it takes is for you to understand the suffering of the people and to have adequate knowledge of what options you need to make available to salvage the situation.”

The 26 year old said “I would not want to admit that I am too young; the bottom line is that I am bringing to finality the long reign of Alban S.K. Bagbin whose tenure of office in my estimation has not yielded anything too good for the good people of Nadowli.”

“By the grace of God, and with the help of the people, that seat will be won by the NPP parliamentary candidate,” Elvis Botaa assured.
