The Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS), upon receipt of one-term feeding grants arrears from the Scholarship Secretariat, has, scheduled to re-open all second cycle institutions in the Upper East Region on the 26th of June,2016.

Senior high schools in the three regions of the North, were owed feeding grants arrears for three terms of 2015/2016 academic year, compelling school authorities to send students home until government settles the arrears for the schools to reimburse their food suppliers to enable them feed the students.

It took public outcry by civil society organizations and pressure groups for government to release GHC44.9 million for the settlement of one-term feeding grant arrears, with two terms pending.

Affected students who have been home for over one week, are expected to report back to their various schools on Sunday 26th June,2016.

In a statement issued by the Chairperson of CHASS, Francisca Yinzura, all students are to report to their various schools at 5:00pm on Sunday, 26th June,2016.

RE-OPENING OF SECOND CYCLE INSTITUTIONS IN UPPER EAST REGION

The Upper East Regional chapter of the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools  wish to inform all students parents and guardians of all senior high schools and Technical Institutes in the Upper East Region that the schools will re-open on Sunday, 26th June, 2016 to complete the third term of the 2015/2016 academic year.

All students must report to their various schools and be present for roll call at 5:00PM.

Students who still owe school and Parent Teacher Association(PTA) fees must come along with money to settle all their indebtedness.

We entreat all parents and guardians to ensure their wards report to their schools on Sunday,26th June 2016 without fail.
