Accra Hearts of Oak have announced that they have mutually terminated the appointment of their Japanese coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi.

The club made this public via a statement released on Monday via its Twitter handle.

The statement revealed that Yatsuhashi was leaving for India for 25 days to attend a coaching course and that he asked the team to terminate his contract if they felt they could not handle his absence for that period.

The club said that it settled on the option of termination after a careful study of the situation.

Hearts of Oak say that a replacement will be named in coming days.

Yatsuhashi was brought in ahead of the current season and despite lots of skepticism, he managed to guide the Phobians to second place in the first round of the Ghana Premier League.

He led Hearts to an impressive away run in the first round on which they were undefeated and they managed to get wins in Tarkwa, Obuasi and Berekum.
