Parliament has dismissed rumours that its website has been hacked into by unknown persons.

Information went spiral on social media over the weekend that a website, www.ghanamps.gov.gh had been hacked into by some unknown Palestinians.

The website has the inscription, ‘Free Palestine, Free Islam, Death to Zionist.’

The hacked website has detailed information about Members of Parliament and their dealings in the House and in their constituencies.

But a statement issued by the Director of Public Affairs Department of Parliament, Kate Addo said the supposed website which had been allegedly hacked into was not the official website of Parliament “but was created by an unknown private individual.”

“The website does not belong to Ghana’s Parliament. Our site is still intact. Anyone who wants information about Parliament should visit www.parliament.gh,” the statement added.

She further appealed to the public to disregard any rumor that the official website of Parliament had been hacked into.
