Flagbearer of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), Ivor Kobina Green-Street, has taken a swipe at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), saying they have woefully failed to reduce youth unemployment in Ghana.
According to him, the two political parties have nothing new to offer the teeming unemployed Ghanaian youth for which reason they should be rejected at the November polls.

He said the nation’s rising youth unemployment should be considered as a national security threat.
The CPP Flagbearer promised to solve the problem of youth employment when elected President on November 7.
He unveiled the CPP’s agenda to reinvigorate the private sector which is considered as the engine of growth to create opportunities for the idling youth.
He observed that government has a greater role to play in the successes of the private sector.
He said revenue accrued from the nation’s natural resources such as the oil, gold, diamond and manganese among others, have not benefited the citizenry.
He believes the party has the human resources capable of transforming the nation in line with the previous CPP government’s development agenda.
Corruption
Ivor Korbina Greenstreet charged duty bearers to accept that corruption is widespread in the country, hence the need for self-control.
He pointed to corruption in the public sector as the cause of the nation’s economic despair. He identified among other public institutions the judiciary, the police service, the passport office as places where corruption is pervasive.
District Assemblies Common Fund/PLWD
He slammed the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies for the delay in allocating the two percent of the Common Fund as required by law to Persons Living with Disability.
Ivor Kobina Greenstreet described the situation as unfair and admonished the MMDAs to timely release the fund to cater for the welfare of the beneficiaries.
He however tasked Persons living with Disability to contribute their quota towards nation building.
EC’s deadline to non-functional political parties
The CPP Flagbearer backed the Electoral Commission’s resolve to restrict defunct political parties that have no offices across the country from participating in this year’s election.
He encouraged the EC to stick to its deadline of eliminating such political parties in the 2016 polls. Ivor Kobina Greenstreet declared the CPP’s intention to submit its accounts to the EC ahead of the November 7 polls.
The CPP Flagbearer will on Friday speak at a regional rally at Sakasaka near the Afa Ajura Mosque in Tamale.
