On Monday, May, 16, Yvonne Nelson joined a host of Ghanaians to observe the ‘Dumsor Must Stop’ Vigil, a mammoth protest which she led to give a voice to the hardships that Ghanaians were going through because of the power crisis in the country, which has been christened, Dumsor.

On May 16, 2015, Yvonne Nelson, with some other Ghanaians marched through the streets of the capital, starting from the University of Ghana overhead bridge.

On Monday, Citi FM, Yvonne Nelson and many other Ghanaians posted photos of the vigil to remember the historic protest which some have said pushed government to realise how uncomfortable Ghanaians were with the Dumsor menace.
