Ho Polytechnic as part of its 2010-2016 strategic plan, on Friday formally unveiled a cloth, to serve as an insignia of corporate belongingness, as the institution prepares for upgrading into a technical university.

“Henceforth the cloth becomes an identity, defines our uniqueness as an educational institution,” Professor Emmanuel Kojo Sakyi, Rector told a staff audience at the launch, characterised by fanfare.

He observed that a cloth for an institution might look “not anything extraordinary” but it is, as it bonds staff and other stakeholders for a vibrant esprit-de-corps towards attaining corporate goals.

Prof Sakyi therefore observed that he cloth, which has already given the polytechnic a new identity, is not for management, but all shareholders.

Dr Christopher Amehoe, Registrar noted that “institutional memorabilia”, such as the cloth, are important for projecting the image of organisations.

Mama Tutu, II, a Divisional Queen of Tanyigbe, in the Municipality, who is Head of Research at the Volta Regional House of Chiefs, unveiled the cloth, an African Print, designed by the Industrial Art Department of the Polytechnic.

The Non-Teaching Staff Welfare Association Borborbor group and the Ho Polytechnic Mass Choir graced the occasion.
