The Association of Vice Chancellors Ghana will on Friday meet officials of the Education Ministry over threats by students in public universities to demonstrate over what they describe as exorbitant utility bills.

Public universities and polytechnics have passed on the cost of the bills to students after government announced it will no longer subsidize utility bills in the schools.

The students in an earlier interview with Citi News said the directive will burden them.

Per the new directive resident students of the University of Cape Coast will now pay an average of 450 cedis for utility bills only while non-residents will pay 350 cedis.
