Young Ghanaian footballers aged between 16-22 years could soon realize their dreams of playing for top European and Asian teams when a team of Netherland and Ghanaian based football agencies start their maiden talent hunts from June.

Wonder Sports, a Ghanaian based football agency, in partnership with Netherland’s Football Talent International, will begin the hunt for international stars from June 13 in Kumasi and end on July 29 in Accra.

A UEFA licensed coach and of Football Talent International, Mr. Rene Koster has hinted the hunt will receive and nurture football talents regardless of where they are coming from in Ghana. “Our team of expert is more than able to work with these young talents, to give them exposure”.

Mr Koster, who has had a fruitful coaching career with teams like AZ Alkmaar, Ajax Amsterdam, and NEC Nijmegen said out of the thousands of footballers engaged, the lucky 20 will make it to the finals of the competition.

Explaining the reason behind the talent hunt, CEO of Wonder Sports Mr. Kofi Adjei-Maafo noted that the Wonder Soccer Talent Hunt was conceptualized with the view to unearthing talent at the grassroots level in Ghana and give them international exposures. “it will start with justifiers which will ensure that every player gets an equal opportunity to showcase his skills and playing acumen through a series of selection criteria, overseen by renowned and officially certified coaches in each centre”.

According to the CEO, the preliminary stages of the justifiers starts from 13th of June to 24th of June in Kumasi and continues in Accra from the 4th of July, 2016 to 29th of July, 2016

“I strongly feel that the hunt is an ideal platform for talented youngsters to showcase their skills; with this, we hope to give these young budding football talents an equal opportunity that they truly deserve. Talent and skill should be the only parameter to judge their potential and chance to play for these top and European clubs”, he added.
