He continued that “motherhood goes beyond carrying pregnancy but training and raising a child is equally important”.

Mr. Norgbey noted that although this is the second year running since the event is being organised in the constituency, he is optimistic that the event will grow bigger and better in the coming years.

Mr. Ernest Norgbey, who as part of his campaign message trumpeted leadership of care and concern and also promised to offer jobs to the unemployed youth and women in the constituency, awarded certificates to some 20 women who underwent training in beads making.

“Today I am glad to see these beautiful ladies being awarded certificates to signify the completion of apprenticeship in beads-making which means that these ladies can now contribute towards the development of their families because they are no longer unemployed. This is what my administration sought to do in Ashaiman. Give hope to the people and teach them how to fish” he stated.

Mr. Norgbey, a passionate philanthropist, further assured the people of Ashaiman especially mothers that he will support the education of their children to become more useful to society.

He cautioned the women against acts that bring motherhood into disrepute saying motherhood is Godly and its sanctity must be protected.

Mr. Norgbey later joined the caterers to serve the food to the mothers who were eagerly waited to be served in a queue.
