Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah has admitted facing a few problems over his final 23- man squad for the World Cup in Brazil. Appiah is currently with the team in Holland as part of the preparations for the tournament and will name the final team after Saturday’s friendly with the Oranje in Rotterdam.

However, Appiah said choosing a final team would pose a problem since a lot of the players are showing seriousness in the training sessions but he was pleased with the situation of having a lot of good players to choose from.

” It will be really difficult. Yesterday,I had a chat with my assistant, Maxwell Konadu, and I mentioned to him that we had a headache in terms of who to drop. All the boys are performing really well here in Holland. This is good because we now have a lot of options but it does leave us with a few problems.”

Ghana arrived in Holland on Sunday after their farewell match against the a select side from the First Capital Plus Premier League on Saturday and the team has been training since. The coach expressed his joy at the team’s workrate and not having to deal with injuries to the players as the World Cup begins on the 12th of June.

” So many countries have experienced issues with injuries but we are thankful that we do not have these problems. The players are doing so well and they are showing seriousness and discipline in their work.”

After playing against the Netherlands on the 31st of May, the Black Stars will play against South Korea on the 9th of June in Miami before flying to Brazil for the World Cup.
