Some Ghanaian mothers will be given a treat of their lives tonight by children at Citi FM’s Mother’s Day event at Holiday Inn Hotel in Accra.
Some of the mothers were selected after their children participated in Citi Fm’s “sing for mama karaoke” on air. At today’s event, the children will shower their mothers with gifts, pamper them with sumptuous cuisine and sing for them as well.
Dozens of Ghanaians will today, [Sunday] May 8, give their mothers a special treat at the Citi FM organized dinner at the plush Holiday Inn Hotel in Accra, to celebrate this year’s Mother’s Day.
The event, dubbed ‘Mother’s Day Treat’, will give listeners the opportunity to celebrate their mothers by treating them to a three course meal, soothing live band music and performances.
There will also be the ‘Sing for Mama Karaoke’, where children will sing special serenades to their mothers.
Last year, Citi FM gave listeners the opportunity to win an all-expense paid trip for a special Mother via the ‘Cook for Mama’ competition, where five fathers and husbands displayed their culinary skills in a competition, in a bid to make Mother’s Day more memorable for their wives.
Much like last year’s ‘Cook for Mama’competition, the ‘Mother’s Day Treat’ will see families appreciate and celebrate their mothers at this dinner amidst soothing live band music and performances to keep guests entertained.
An exemplary Mother in society will also be selected for an Honorary Award and a citation, for positively impacting individuals and society as a whole.
The other mothers won’t be left out as there will be lucky dip sessions, where they will stand the chance to win items in the form of products and services that women typically love and need.
