Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare has defended the decision to  fly the body of the late actor Nii Odoi Mensah back into the country saying the money spent was worth it.

Although there was some controversy concerning the cost involved in bringing the body home, the matter was put to rest when the Minister, on behalf of the President of Ghana, told family members everything will be taken care of by the government.

Speaking to Citi News, the Minister, Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare said the focus should be on the loss of a great actor great person and not on the cost involved.

“Whatever money was involved in bringing him here was worth it because there is no way the government was going to allow a hero like this to be left in faraway china. We are glad that the president promised he was going to bring him and he has brought him”

Nii Odoi Mensah died on Tuesday April, 12, 2016 while he was undergoing kidney treatment in China, after battling with the disease for some years. His body was met at the airport by family members and some dignitaries including the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts.
