Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited has launched the newest, biggest addition to the Guinness family, Guinness Africa Special made with 70% sorghum sourced locally from the Northern regions in Ghana and selected African herb and spices.

Guinness Africa Special offers a unique taste that is tailored to the specific needs of the African.

About a year ago, a group of creative young Africans were assembled and asked to inspire the taste, look and branding of a new beer.

Their findings gave birth to Guinness Africa Special, a brand that reflects aspects of our culture, the timeless reality of our past, and the exuberant vitality of today’s African.

“This is our Own.” This black brew is made from herb and spices grown in our soil, giving it a vibrant refreshing taste that is alive with the spirit of Africa. Guinness Africa Special is truly a beer made by Africans for Africans; it is the best of both worlds – it combines the bold distinctiveness of Guinness and the vibrancy of the young African.

“As an iconic Business, we are proud to set the pace, which is why we are always innovating to meet the ever dynamic needs of our cherished consumers. Today, is another example of such pace-setting innovation, as we witness the newest, biggest addition to the Guinness family – Guinness Africa Special. This is our gift to Africa;” said Marketing Director of Guinness Ghana, Kweku Sekyi-Cann .

Francis Agbonlahor, Managing Director of Guinness Ghana said “As market leaders, we are constantly guided by core targets to strengthen and accelerate our premium core brands; innovate at scale to meet new consumer needs; build and constantly extend our advantage in route to consumer; among others. Guinness Africa Special is the result of such focused target setting.”

Guinness Africa Special will also be launched in Kumasi as part of a marketing drive to make the readily product available countrywide.
