Ghana’s most relevant radio station, Citi FM and 11 Civil Society organizations, will today [Thursday], jointly launch election-related projects funded by STAR-Ghana.
The projects, which are meant to enhance the public understanding and participation in the promotion of issue based elections, will span from April 2016 to January 2017.
The organisations include Blogging Ghana, Abantu, CDD/CODEO, FSDA, African Women Lawyers Association, MUSIGA, National Media Commission, Socioserve Ghana, Ghana Integrity Initiative and Citi FM.
Some of the projects will promote voice, peace, National cohesion, and inclusiveness in the 2016 elections.
The launch will take the form of brief presentations by the various organisations on their projects before an audience of stakeholders and students.
The launch will be broadcast live on 97.3 Citi FM.
Speaking to Citifmonline.com ahead of the launch, Director of News at Citi FM, and Host of the Citi Breakfast Show, Bernard Avle, described the joint launch as a great example of the collaborative nature of the latest STAR Ghana call, with the beneficiary organisations showing enthusiasm about sharing a rare and unique platform to promote national development.
According to him, the joint launch gives a signal that many of the projects this year, will be collaborative in nature and hopefully result in deeper and more significant outcomes.
The event comes off at the Kofi Annan ICT centre at 2pm today [Thursday].
