President John Dramani Mahama has scored himself high marks describing the achievements of his administration over the past three years as phenomenal.

According to the President, his ‘Accounting to the people tour’, which has taken him to the Western and Eastern Regions so far, has given him the opportunity to appreciate how the many developmental projects initiated by his government have transformed the lives of Ghanaians.

[contextly_sidebar id=”HB9JZnxbT8XrJF6rC1J8ugLdDvhYzmwg”]President Mahama, who was speaking at Hohoe in the Volta Region on the first day of his ‘Accounting to the people’ tour of that Region, revealed that government will soon be initiating more projects in various regions across the country.

“If you look at the track record and what we have been able to achieve it is phenomenal. Accounting to the people tour has taken me to the Western and Eastern Regions, and today I am in the Volta Region; and in all the regions I have inspected projects, I have commissioned projects that have been completed and I have been asked by traditional rulers and the people to discuss other projects that they want government to undertake and from electrification, water, education, to livelihoods, definitely the work of this government is an enviable one.”

The President’s tour and the messages he has been trumpeting, has triggered criticisms of abuse of incumbency.

The Presidential Candidate of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, has suggested that the President’s tour is just a campaign trip running on tax payer’s money.
