It has emerged that the Electoral Commission (EC), is already using its new logo despite a claim by a Deputy Chairman of the Commission that the logo, which has generated public discussion is yet to be approved.
Deputy EC Chairman, Amadu Sulley, told journalists at a capacity building workshop over the weekend, that the EC was yet to decide on whether or not the new logo would be approved for use.
But it appears the claim by the Deputy Chairman contradicts the reality on the ground, as evidence sighted by citifmonline.com suggests that the logo is already being used for official purposes.
Posters and brochures sighted by citifmonline.com had the new logo embossed on them.

Controversy over new logo
A new logo, which appeared in place of EC’s original logo, had generated a lot of debate amongst the public with some suggesting that the Commission must not change the original one.
While others have criticized the logo as not being original, others say it is of poor quality and does not communicate the functions of the commission.
Some critics have also said the timing of the new logo is improper.
