The Chief of Buru-Navio in the Upper East Region, who fled his palace after the youth of the area threatened to lynch him, has told Citi News that he has returned to the community.

Naviopio Pe Adam Kwarasei II in an interview with Citi News said he is now back after the Police took control.

“So far so good, the place is calm. In my palace, there is a lot of security there; but I don’t have a personal security yet. I returned to the palace on Sunday. So far, as the law is taking its course, we are following the procedures keenly and then on Friday we are returning to court.”

Suspects granted bail

Following the attack, eight persons were arrested by the Police and were put before court on Monday.

According to the chief, the suspects have been granted bail and are to reappear in court on Friday.

“That was Monday; they were granted bail and were asked to come back tomorrow [Friday].”

Naviopio Kwarasei also commended the Police for their swift intervention in arresting the suspects saying “for now I will salute them but they should up their game.”
