The Member of Parliament for the Ablekuma West Constituency and a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has said it will be very difficult for the party to reconcile with its former Chairman, Paul Afoko.
According to her, Mr. Afoko had adopted a posture which makes it difficult for any party member to reach out to him.
Afoko, Agyepong suspended
The NPP in October 2015 suspended its National Chairman, Paul Afoko together with General Secretary and First Vice Chairman, Kwabena Agyepong and Sammy Crabbe respectively for “misconduct.”

Mrs Owusu-Ekuful while speaking on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana yesterday [Tuesday] said, “If it hadn’t been his [Mr. Afoko’s] posture there would have been continuing efforts to see how best to solve the great differences.”
“He has painted himself into some kind of corner and has made it impossible for anybody to reach out to him. And that goes for all the other little issues lingering on in the various constituencies. The party is bigger than anyone of us and if the party were to succeed in winning power, we will all benefit,” Mrs Owusu-Ekuful stated.
She earlier in the interview commended Kwabena Agyepong for his current attitude after his suspension.
Afoko, Agyepong won’t be reinstated
Following reports that the NPP was putting measures in place to reinstate its suspended Chairman and General Secretary, the party issued a statement rejecting claim.
The NPP in a statement said “at the last Steering and National Executive Committee meetings, this issue did not come up at all for any discussion, much less a decision.”
