A man believed to be in his thirties has been arrested for allegedly beating his twenty eight year old wife to death in Hohoe in the Volta region.
Narrating the incident, the Hohoe Municpal Crime Officer, ASP Edward Ghartey said the man subjected his wife to severe beating till she was admitted at the hospital.
“He turned his wife into a punching bag in the morning. After his wife had received a sound beating, she went to sleep and his husband also went to town. While in town, a neighbor chanced on the woman suffering in bed, so she rushed her to the Hohoe Municipal Assembly hospital,” he explained.
He noted that the man upon arriving at the hospital after he was asked to go for his wife’s National Health Insurance card, received the news about the death of his wife.
“Now he’s sorry about what happened, but can the woman come back? She’s gone and dead, and the law will not forgive him because he has committed murder,” ASP Ghartey lamented.
