The Coalition of Unemployed Nurses has threatened to embark on a demonstration that will see them occupying the seat of government, if the state fails to post them to the various hospitals across the country.

According to the Coalition, they are bonded by government to serve the country after completion of their studies.

However, the Ministry of Health has delayed for eight months in processes involved in getting them cleared and posted to the various health facilities.

[contextly_sidebar id=”5acLk0XowxdPv4aRqdOg74k8KwIUHDqM”]According to the Spokesperson for the Coalition, Adams Masawudu, a letter was written to the Ministry of Health on the 16th of January, but there has not been any fruitful outcome from deliberations with the ministry.

He added that they have decided to demonstrate and occupy the official seat of government to press home their demand.

“Government was quick cancel our allowance immediately we finished the service. Some of us are married and we have kids and we have to take care of our families. We have been promised that the dead goat has been resurrected and is now alive but we cannot see that.”

Mr. Masawudu further accused their mother association the Ghana Registered Nurses Association of doing little about their plight.

“I am highly disappointed at my mother association, we don’t have to even come and complain to them. They are there because we are there. Even if they are doing anything at all, they are very slow. They are not proactive when it comes to our concerns.”

“By 27th of this month, all unemployed nurses will embark on a demonstration to the Flagstaff House and we will make sure that without clearance we will remain there until we get our clearance. Where are the skills going to? It’s just fading off and you are talking about building other health facilities, regional hospitals, polyclinics among others. If you are building these facilities and you are not recruiting what are you doing to the people of this country?” he questioned.
