Kotoko got a 3-1 home win over Liberty Professionals at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday in their first match after head coach David Duncan was asked to step aside following their loss to Aduana Stars last week.

But things started on a very tricky note after Liberty Professionals star man Latif Blessing put the visitors ahead after 5 minutes.

However, Kotoko responded through Ahmed Adams, Dauda Mohammed and Amos Frimpong.

The win sent Kotoko to 9th place on the table while Liberty are now 7th on 10 points.

Hearts of Oak managed to hold their own away to Techiman City and got a goalless draw.

The Phobians were trying to bounce back from their 3-1 home loss to Wa All Stars last weekend and they had to resolute in their play to deny Techiman City another home win in the league.

Hearts are 2nd on the league table with 14 points while Techiman City are 5th on 11 points.

Defending league champions AshantiGold experienced a setback in their title defence when they were beaten 1-0 by Dreams FC in Obuasi.

Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Emmanuel Hayford scored the goal in the second half to hand the debutants all three points available.

Dreams are now 3rd on the table with 14 points and AshGold are 12th on 7 points.

Inter Allies were the round’s biggest winners after beating Bechem United 4-0 in Tema through goals from Isaac Twum, Prince Baffoe, Gockel Ahortor and Ropapa Mensah.

The home side moved up to 8th with 8 points and Bechem are 14th with 7 points. Wa All Stars beat Ebusua Dwarfs by a lone goal at the Wa Park.
