Tottenham are ready to break the bank to keep manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine signed a five-year contract when he moved to White Hart Lane from Southampton in May 2014, but chairman Daniel Levy is ready to tear up that deal and offer the 44-year-old bumper new terms.
The Daily Mail is reporting Pochettino will be handed a fresh five-year agreement worth £5.5million a year, with lucrative performance-related bonuses also included.
The former Espanyol boss has been a revelation since moving to England in January 2013 when he replaced Nigel Adkins at St Mary’s, and is now one of the most highly-rated young managers in Europe.
He has been linked with both Chelsea and Manchester United in recent months and Tottenham are determined to keep the man who has masterminded their Premier League title challenge this season.
It is understood the offer was made to Pochettino during talks with Levy in the recent international break. Spurs are now awaiting an answer from the South American, but are confident an agreement will be reached for him to extend his stay in north London.
