As another Mother’s Day celebration draws near, Citi FM will once again be seeking to celebrate mothers, this time with an innovative event dubbed, Mother’s Day Treat. The event forms part of the station’s Family Month in May.

Mothers are an integral part of any society and are critical to the growth of individuals and paramount in the nurturing of children in our society.

Last year, Citi FM gave listeners the opportunity to win an all-expense paid trip for a special Mother via the ‘Cook for Mama’ competition, where five fathers and husbands displayed their culinary skills in a competition, in a bid to make Mother’s Day more memorable for their wives.

Much like last year’s ‘Cook for Mama’competition, the idea of the ‘Mother’s Day Treat’ will also appreciate and celebrate mothers, thus siblings and children will be encouraged to give a treat to the mother figure in their lives by being part of a special mother’s day dinner.

The dinner will come off on Sunday, May 8, 2016, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Holiday Inn within Accra’s plush Airport City, amidst soothing live band music and performances to keep guests entertained.

A special part of the dinner activities,  the ‘Sing for Mama Karaoke’, will see the children or families of the various mothers try to express their deepest appreciation for their mothers, as they sing in a fun and classy atmosphere.

An exemplary Mother in Society will also be selected for an Honorary Award and a citation, for positively impacting individuals and society as a whole.

The other mothers won’t be left out as there will be lucky dip sessions, where they will stand the chance to win items in the form of products and services that women typically love and need.
