Veteran Ghanaian boxers Joshua Clottey and Jospeh Agbeko are set to return to the ring on April 29 at the Accra Sports Stadium for what has been dubbed “Legendary Night Boxing”.
Clottey’s last bout against Gabriel Rosado ended in defeat in December by unanimous decision but the 38 year old former IBF Welterweight Champion believes he still has enough in store to launch a final title bid before he hangs his gloves and he will get the opportunity against 36 year old Brazilian Anderson Clayton in a 10 round bout.
According to Clottey he is still grieving the death of his mentor and trainer Godwin Kotey Dzanie popularly known as “Alloway” and will dedicate the final phase of his career to him.
He vowed to put on a show for the fans after spending so many years fighting the best boxers around the globe.
Agbeko on the other hand at age 36 takes on 24-year-old Filipino brawler Cris Alfante over 10 rounds in a bantamweight contest.
Emmanuel “Game Boy” Tagoe will make a mandatory defence of his WBA International lightweight title against Mzonke Fane from South Africa while world-title prospect George “Red Tiger” Ashie fights Cid Ribeiro from Brazil.
