The three ex-South African Police officers repatriated on Tuesday say they have been traumatized by the turn of events in Ghana.
The three reunited with their families, more than a week after they were arrested for illegally training the security detail of the flagbearer and running mate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
[contextly_sidebar id=”iGOjeaiTMhgp4laNlIIKiCHIjAmQ3qjD”]Speaking to Citi News, the sister of one of the three, Nimala Abboy said her brother, Sheikh Haziz and the two others said the whole experience in Ghana was traumatizing but were happy to be back home finally.
According to Nimala Abboy, the three arrived in South Africa around 6pm in the evening.
“He was very tired but he was excited to see his family again. He is quite traumatized over all the events that have taken place.”
According to her, though his brother is not ready to speak on the treatment meted out to them in Ghana, “he is very happy to be back with his family and to be united with all of us again.”

She had earlier been outraged about the treatment meted out to her brother and his colleagues in Ghana.
While insisting that her brother Major (rtd), Ahmed Shaik Hazis was not a criminal, Abboy said “my brother has his own security company and does security, VIP protection and body guarding and that is what he does for a living.”
She added her family members were outraged by “the way they [his brother and the two others] were treated and we didn’t understand the charges that were brought against them but we just rejoiced that they are on their way home and we are just happy that there was no real case against them.”
