Ghana’s epic musical theatre WogbɛJɛkɛ:The Birth Of A Nation returns revised and revitalized with a blast this weekend.

‘WogbɛJɛkɛ is an exhilarating experience of music, dance and drama, that re-enacts the journey and settlement of major ethnic groups into the current borders of the country.

‘WogbɛJɛkɛ stages at the Amphitheatre of the University of Ghana on Thursday 31st  March, Friday 1st April and Saturday 2nd April at the Amphitheatre of the University of Ghana, behind Commonwealth Hall at 7:30pm each night.

The rates are 30GHc Regular and 15ghc students. Tickets are available at Airport Shell and at the venue. For reservations please call 0246 197 841

5x10(2)The Key Soap sponsored production is created by Chief Moomen, one of Ghana’s outstanding young poets and playwrights, and directed by BBC award winning playwright Anima Misa Amoah and Abdul Karim Hakib, a lecturer at the School Of Performing Arts, UG.

The story continues in July at the National Theatre with a riveting play on Ghana’s independence struggle titled ‘WogbɛJɛkɛ: The Tale OF Two Men.

 “WogbɛJɛkɛ” is a Ga word  which means  we have come from far. It also means our journey is still long.

The production is powered by Bambu Centre in collaboration with Citi FM.
