FIPAG inaugurates Upper East regional branch

The Ghana Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) has inaugurated its Upper East Regional branch in Bolgatanga to make the Upper East film makers association part of FIPAG.

This is to ensure they benefit from the organization’s prospects  and  help promote stories told from the north to the entire world.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony held in Zuarungu, General secretary of FIPAG Mr. James Aboakye said the inauguration of FIPAG branch in the Upper East Region will enable actors, actresses, and producers to benefit from professional training in film making to compete with their colleagues’ in the south in the  film industry.

“The general purpose is to make Upper East film makers part of FIPAG so that they can benefit from the programmes that we do, they benefit from some of the resources that we also occasionally get from government and other institutions, the training and everything that we do as film makers,” Aboakye stated.

He added that, the Upper East FIPAG will have a herculean task to strengthen and promote film making in the region.

Mr. Aboakye noted that, there was great potential for the film industry in the Upper East Region and impressed on all film makers to work in synergy to fulfill their dreams and aspirations in the movie industry.

Upper East Regional chairman of FIPAG Rev. Peter Awane was grateful that, film makers in the Upper East Region have finally become part of FIPAG after several years of existence and now has the opportunity to benefit from FIPAG and also showcase the positive stories of the region.

Mr. Awane reiterated that, film makers in the Upper East Region has a great potential to breakthrough and make it big in the movie industry provided they get the requisite and regular training from FIPAG.

“What does Nigeria and Southern Ghana have that we don’t have in the North. It is the culture, the passion and the enthusiasm that people have to make films. so once we have those people around, we can make it big here and maybe bigger than those in Nigeria and Southern Ghana provided we good training because most of our actors, actresses and producers really need training,” Awane stated.

Mr. Awane entreated film producers and potential actors and actresses to participate to make it big in the industry.
