Three orphanages across the country will today benefit from Citi FM’s Easter Orphan project.

The Project, which is in its 11th year has over the years ensured that these orphanages receive enough supplies to last them a whole year.

This year, Citi FM will be donating to the Baptist School Complex (BASCO), an orphanage at Trotor, near Suhum in the Eastern Region, the Handivangelism Orphanage at Haatso in Accra and Mama Laadi Orphanage at Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region.

Operations Manager at Citi FM, Philip Kofi Ashon, told Citi News that the station took this initiative because of its commitment to ensuring that the children, especially those in various orphanages are comfortable.

“I believe that the listeners who will be joining us. We will have a fulfilling time spending Easter Monday with these children. The whole idea is to empower these children, if we have to do it for the next 20 years, that will be the main focus.

“We have collaborated with our listeners and they’ve brought together everything, from bags of rice, to confectioneries and we are going to give the children in these orphanages a time of their lives. We will spend time with them and advise them, we will eat with them. We are basically giving them something to look forward to. To do this is enough for us.”

The Easter Orphan Project is Citi FM’s annual social responsibility project, which raises funds and collects items from its cherished listeners, to support selected orphanages and under -developed communities in the country.

Over the years, Citi FM has also extended help to the Akuse and Kumasi Prisons among others.
