President of the Mid-West Ghana Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Pastor Paul Twumasi Danquah, has described the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, as a patient and a Godfearing person.

“He has demonstrated this quality over the years. In Galatians 5:22-23, Paul talks about the fruits of the spirit, which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness and self-control. Therefore, if you find anyone who is patient then that person is born of God, because patience is a fruit of the spirit,” he said.

Pastor Danquah said this when Nana Akufo-Addo worshiped with congregants of the Sunyani Newtown SDA Church on Saturday, March 19, 2016.

Delivering his sermon titled “Patience, the key to success”, the preacher commended the NPP flagbearer for enduring vilification and insults from political opponents, drawing comparison with the insults and mockery Jesus Christ suffered at the hands of his persecutors.

“Just like the story of Job in the Bible, the crown of success awaits you. I want everybody to emulate this sterling quality of Nana Akufo-Addo” he said.

Nana Akufo-Addo on his part, thanked Pastor Paul Twumasi Danquah and the members of the Church for the warmth reception given to him.

He asked for prayers for the peace of the country, and for the Electoral Commission, “so that they conduct a free, fair, and transparent election whose outcome will be readily accepted by all.”

“For your servant, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, pray that God gives me strength, courage, wisdom and a good heart so I can be the servant-leader the people of Ghana so ardently require. This is my third attempt, and I can assure you that, when you give me the chance, I will, with the guidance of the Almighty, not disappoint you,” he concluded.

Nana Akufo-Addo was accompanied by the Deputy NPP General Secretary, Nana Obiri Boahen; National Women’s Organiser of the NPP, Otiko Afisa Djaba; NPP Brong Ahafo Regional Chairman, Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh; NPP MP for Sunyani West, Hon. Ignatius Baffuor Awuah; NPP MP for Sunyani East, Hon. Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh; former NPP Brong Ahafo Regional Chairman, Kojo Yeboah Fordjuor.

The others were NPP Brong Ahafo Regional Secretary, Alfred Anye; NPP Brong Ahafo Regional Organiser, Rasheed Kolambig; Musah Iddrisu Superior, Fatimatu Abubakar and Pius Enam Hadzide, Campaign Aides to Nana Akufo-Addo; among others.
