The Inspector General of Police, COP John Kudalor, has called on police officers in the country to do their work well to ensure the safety of Ghanaians.
He was speaking at the commissioning of a modern police post built to offer security to parliament.
[contextly_sidebar id=”mih4IGvfoeMeHdGtCEZbyVU0CjpZAhWD”]COP Kudalor said ensuring the safety of the people is a fulfillment of the social contract officers have with Ghanaians.
“The good people of this country are expecting us to fulfill our part of the contract by ensuring the safety and security of all. Officers must therefore strive hard to be good and effective leaders who will use knowledge, expertise, skills and networks to change society,” he said.
He also assured the officers that “government is doing all it can to ensure that the service is better equipped to perform its duties effectively.”
The IGP also urged members of the public to assist the police in their work.
“Policing is a shared responsibility, hence the need for all of us to assist in one way or another to peacefully coexist and perform our duty.”
