A Human Rights Court on Thursday dismissed a suit filed by some eighty eight (88) former National Security operatives who were challenging their dismissal from the service.
According to the operatives who were employed in 2002 under the then NPP government, they were illegally dismissed because of the assumption that they were political appointees.
They also prayed the court to order the state to pay them their end of service benefits despite a three month salary paid to them as required by law for termination of appointments.
Delivering his ruling, the Judge, Justice Dennis Adjei, said the plaintiffs were not entitled to any end of service or retirement benefits apart from the money paid them, because they were legally dismissed and not retired as required by the security act.
